THE SUPPLY CHAIN INTERVIEW
If a critical supplier starts missing delivery windows or seeing a spike in invoice disputes with other companies, Coupa’ s AI flags that as a risk signal before it impacts an individual organisation.“ At Coupa, we help leaders move from analysing isolated data points to understanding what those signals mean in practice. That enables faster, more confident decisions; whether that’ s adjusting sourcing strategies or preparing for supply shocks.”
For Chief Supply Chain Officers currently stuck in reactive mode, the path to resilience can seem daunting. KPMG research indicates that 43 % of supply chain leaders still lack clear visibility into even their Tier 1 supplier performance. When looking deeper, only 12 % of firms track disruptions at Tier 3 and beyond. Dean’ s advice is refreshingly straightforward:“ The first step is visibility.”
“ Many organisations still rely on siloed systems that only show part of the picture,” he says.“ True resilience comes from understanding how suppliers, logistics partners and markets are interconnected. Once you have that shared view, you can model scenarios, stress-test decisions and act earlier. This is what resilience looks like in practice.” Historically, resilience meant absorbing shocks and returning to normal as quickly as possible. The advent of AI-driven supply chain capabilities is fundamentally changing this definition.
