The 4PL is no stranger to taking on ambitious projects and , over the past few months , has been transporting almost 250 wind turbine blades from a plant in Shenyang , China to Kandla Port in India .
DB Schenker ’ s work for Envision Energy has been led by its Global Projects & Industry Solutions team , whose experts looked after pick-up , export clearance , loading , unloading and ocean freight .
In total , the transport volume adds up to almost 274,000 cubic metres , with a weight of 4,600 tons . Each blade measures 76.8 metres in length and weighs more than 19 tons .
The 153.6-metre span of a single wind turbine is taller than the Statue of Liberty .
By taking on this impressive yet complex logistics order , DB Schenker is getting behind India ’ s ongoing bid to create a stable and sustainable power supply .
