PROTEUS: AMAZON’ S PACKAGE PROCESSING ROBOT

Proteus is Amazon’ s first autonomous mobile robot, meaning it can safely and independently navigate around the human workforce. It has the capacity to detect and avoid objects and can lift and move large carts full of packages, sometimes weighing up to 800 pounds. Due to this, its human coworkers do not have to lift as much, reducing risk of stress and injury. As a result, there is greater productivity, safety and efficiency throughout facilities.
