IBM CSCO survey shows tech & sustainability are key areas
A total of 63 million jobs are expected An IBM survey of chief supply chain officers ( CSCOs ) shows they are ramping-up investment in automation , AI and intelligent workflows , ecosystems and sustainability , as they reimagine their supply chains .
The Institute for Business Value study , ‘ Own Your Transformation ’, surveyed 1,500 CSCOs and chief operating officers ( COOs ).
It shows that CSCOs are embracing AI and automation technologies to provide interconnectivity with partners and suppliers and to enable sustainable operations and predictability .
Headline findings from IBV report : Almost half ( 47 %) of CSCOs say they ’ ve introduced new automation CSCOs rank sustainability as the third biggest challenge in the next few years , trailing only supply chain disruptions and technology infrastructure .
More than half ( 52 %) put sustainability at the top of their priority list .

According to a recent McKinsey survey , the organisations that leverage supplier know-how for innovation purposes enjoy up to 10 % more earnings ’ growth .
� INTERNATIONAL TRADE
International trade in goods has surged as high as 10 % above pre-pandemic levels , according to the DHL Trade Growth Atlas , which maps trends in global trade .
� SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT DESIGN
Sustainable product design has helped 67 % of organisations reduce carbon emissions , yet 41 % currently have no plans to implement sustainable product design , research from Capgemini reveals .
