BEYOND EARTH’ S LIMITS
Eden 1.0, a plant research capsule from Interstellar Lab, is poised to reshape how and where food is grown. Integrated into the Haven-1 Lab from 2026, the tech looks beyond Earth.
“ We will start by integrating Eden 1.0s with existing stations to conduct biological research and grow food,” explains Barbara Belvisi, Interstellar Lab’ s CEO.“ And our vision doesn’ t stop there.”
The capsule enables experiments in microgravity, unlocking how crops behave without Earth’ s gravity. What makes this so incredible is that it builds knowledge to support climate-resilient farming. In extreme environments like urban deserts or disaster-hit areas, Eden’ s closed-loop systems – capable of purifying air, recycling water and growing food – offer new supply chain models.
In this project, food supply chains meet space science in what might just help Earth’ s agriculture break free from fragile global systems.
