With experience within blue chip consulting and industries across planning , logistics , procurement , manufacturing and commercial , in his current role as Executive Partner and Chief Supply Chain Officer he is strategic advisor to multiple mid-large enterprise Chief Supply Chain Officers across Europe , primarily in the CPG , industrial and life science sectors . His toppriority engagements include supply chain strategy development and execution planning , inventory and cost optimisation , sales and operations planning , profit improvement and organisation talent development .

Before joining Gartner he spent four years working with GSK at its pharma , consumer healthcare and vaccines businesses , and two roles at AlixPartners and BP . He also spent 18 years working for HJ Heinz in the UK .

Arthur Valdez , Jr . is Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain and Logistics Officer for Target . He oversees all functions of Target ' s global supply chain and logistics network , including inventory management , replenishment , fulfillment , global transportation , logistics and distribution .

Arthur joined Target in 2016 , bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience in the retail supply chain and logistics industry . He has spent his career building retail supply chain networks in North , South and Central America , as well as across Europe and Asia . His prior roles include senior leadership positions at Amazon and Walmart .

Arthur serves on the Colorado State University Global Leadership Council and the board of directors for Advance Auto Parts , Inc .

He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in production operations management . The son of Mexican-American and Cuban parents , Arthur was the first member of his family to attend college . Today , he devotes time mentoring other first-generation and minority college students , and helping advance the career paths of women and diverse team members at Target .
