CAN CBP KEEP TRADE FLOWING THROUGH A US SHUTDOWN?

Despite the federal shutdown, the US Customs and Border Protection( CBP) confirmed it is continuing revenue collections. Although CBP is continuing port-of-entry operations and cargo inspections, supply chains are still bracing for ripple effects. As non-essential staff are furloughed, imports and documentation reviews are slowing, leading to a future backlog.
