Elsie Qian
CEO Americas
Apex Logistics International Working her way up through the industry from the bottom , Elsie Qian is a proven leader . She helped establish Apex ’ s Americas division almost single-handedly when it first launched in 2003 . In fact , she was half of a twoperson team that expanded the Asian freight forwarder ’ s reach into the continent from a silo in Los Angeles . Flash forward close to 20 years and Apex is a recognised leader . Far from seeing her gender as a barrier , Qian believes being a women in a leadership role in what is a male-dominated industry makes her different , “ and that makes Apex different ”, she told Lets Talk Supply Chain ( see # 22 ).
