Tracy has worked across each of Colgate-Palmolive ’ s four categories during her 30-year career , overseeing at different points logistics , supply chain and manufacturing . She now leads the American consumer products giant ’ s global sustainability strategy - a facet of the business that is in many ways unique . Led by Tracy , Colgate ’ s goal is 100 % recyclability across all its products and packaging , and it has pioneered several innovations towards this mission . A breakthrough was the development of recyclable tubes for oral care products , which it has open sourced and is working with peers and even competitions to increase adoption , a move which earned it recognition in the
2020 Fortune Change the World list .
“ It ’ s important we drive the industry towards all tubes being recyclable ,” Tracy said in an interview with the New York Stock Exchange last September . “ We ’ ve spoken to nearly 20 different companies , some of them competitors , and we ’ re really encouraging the move to happen as quickly as possible so we can get tubes out of the landfill and into the recycling stream .”
This is just one initiative in Tracy ’ s sustainability work at Colgate , and dovetails neatly into her wider commitment to sustainable business . Alongside her CSO role , Tracy is a Board Member of the UN Global Compact Network ’ s USA chapter , the world ’ s largest corporate sustainability initiative .
