All of Felixstowe ’ s inspection facilities are approved and exceed the requirements set by DEFRA and the European Commission .
The inspection facilities procedures and processes that are in place are regularly audited by inspectors from the European Commission ’ s Food and Veterinary Office to ensure that the standards are maintained . Although generally the examination team ’ s role is simply to bring the containers in for checking , they will also do the devanning on some occasions .
