TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS
To support the surge in cargo volumes, particularly from e-commerce, Swissport is constantly seeking to improve and upgrade its technological infrastructure.
This includes enhancements to its cargo management system, Cargospot, in order to improve information transfer speed.
“ We are going to the next iteration of Cargospot, so we can make sure the speed of information transfer s as required,” Duncan says.
“ It’ s really going to help with the transfer of data for our customers.”
Technological improvements extend beyond handling e-commerce demands. They also address regulatory changes that have emerged since Brexit, particularly relating to border inspection and control requirements.
“ There’ s been some changes since we( the UK) left the EU, so we’ ve had to make some changes of our own to keep up with import requirements for border inspection and border control.”
