When it comes to cold supply chain management , customers are looking for quality and consistency
to have in-house skills to manage the variety of items that are being transported each day . For example , it is important to know that ice cream will melt at zero degrees , while refrigerated products and produce require high levels of humidity to stay fresh . In addition , some fruits and vegetables are not compatible when stored or transported in closed environments because one may speed up the decaying process of the other . Without this knowledge , a “ perfect ” cold chain may not give the desired results ; and therefore , lower customer satisfaction .
Another challenge many companies face is keeping this trained staff without any overturn or fluctuation of service . It is important to realize the extreme circumstance an employee has to endure in order to work the cold supply chain . Companies must provide their employees with the
