Jim Connell has served in a variety of roles during his near eight years of service at JPMorgan Chase & Co . As CPO and Head of Global Supplier Services he is currently engaged in a series of collaborative initiatives with suppliers to dramatically increase collectice spend with diverse suppliers . This also includes mentoring suppliers in best practices to build their own diversity programmes , as well as promoting greater discoverability for diverse suppliers . Connell is also developing the Gold Supplier Program , through which he hopes “ to create shared , incremental value with our suppliers above and beyond the traditional supply chain goals of best price and best service ”.

Jim Townsend leads Walgreens ' procurement ( Goods and Services Not For Resale ) and its end-toend transformation across cost , risk , CSR , DE & I and more . Prior to joining Walgreens Boots Alliance , he worked for Anglo American and General Electric , also within commercial procurement . He has worked overseas extensively , in both manufacturing and retail environments . He holds an MBA in Strategic Procurement from the University of Birmingham , UK and a Bachelor ’ s Degree in Mechanical Engineering .
